Tjukurrpa is the dreaming of the country. It is how Anangu see the creation of the land. It is the story of the land.
This is the women's Tjukurrpa for Imanpa, told by Elsie Intjiparti. It is the story of Ukurukuru, the spirit women living in the hills west of Imanpa community.
Title: Minyma Tjukurrpa - Ukurukuru
Ukurukuru, Spirit woman was sitting down at Imanpa Hill. She went into the cave and got inside her home. And then she came back out and she saw all the other spirit women, sitting down outside the cave. She told everyone to come inside to the cave. They go straight into the cave, into their home. Then a stranger came from another community and layed down to sleep. That women saw the stranger people, she went back into the cave and get another woman to come back and they went talk to the stranger people with her their wana her big sticks. Men have Ukurukuru men as well, the same. And kids have ukurukuru too. All the Ukurukuru are stitting down good way. Those other ukurukuru women theyre good fun for dancing, they make everyone happy.
