PY Ku

The PY Ku Network is an initiative which will bring together a range of resources, services and funding from government and non-government organisations to deliver improved and increased services to the APY Lands and link service delivery with training and employment opportunities for Anangu. The Network will also provide office and administrative support facilities for visiting professionals and may provide management of overnight visitor’s accommodation in some locations.

A centrally managed network of seven PY Ku Centres will be established in the following communities across the APY Lands region:
Iwantja (Indulkana), Mimili, Kaltjiti (Fregon), Pukatja (Ernabella), Amata Kalka/Pipalyatjara and Watarru.

Services in the first instance will comprise those seen as desperately needed in the region along with those that can be introduced a timely manner and have the potential to generate income for the Network. These include improved Centrelink services and a range of new SA Government services including motor vehicle and firearms registration and licensing, fines payments, births, deaths and marriage certificates and general information.

The PY Ku Network initiative:

Enjoys Anangu endorsement and universal community support.
    Has undergone extensive community consultation.
Requires the active cooperation and involvement of all levels of government.
