Enrol to Vote - Australian Electoral Commission

Governments make decisions which affect us all. If we want to have a say in who represents us in Government, we need to vote at elections.

If you are 18 or over, you are able to vote.

To be able to vote you need to get your name on the electoral roll by filling out an enrolment form.

You can get an enrolment form from your community office, download pdf enrolment form from this site, or call the AEC on 132326.

Then you need to fill in your details on the form, sign it and have someone witness your signature.

Don’t worry if you can’t sign, just make your mark and have someone witness your mark.

You then need to fax or post your completed form to the AEC.

And remember when move to another community, you need to change your details by filling out another enrolment form.

If you have any questions about enrolment or voting you can call the AEC on 132326, or go to our website at www.aec.gov.au

Make sure you have your say in what happens in your community – get your name on the electoral roll.
